MAYA ANGELOU
This was the first Creole translation of Maya Angelo's "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings." The publisher wanted a unique image, so I painted the younger author's portrait in acrylics using an intentionally limited color palette. I also applied the typographic treatment from a series template that I had previously designed.
